It is with great sadness that we announce the death of John Wallace Coats Jr. (Waterloo, South Carolina), born in Laurens, South Carolina, who passed away on January 15, 2019, at the age of 81, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, John Wallace Coats, Sr. and Mozell Cogsdill Coats; his daughter Donna Coats; his granddaughter Elizabeth Smith; and his brothers, Fred Dewitt Coats, Robert Coats, Nelson Coats and Edwin.

He is survived by: his wife Betty Bartley Coats; and his children, Steven Coats (Renee) of Waterloo, Ricky Coats (Tammy) of South Haven, MI, Lynda Lovvorn (Terry) of Due West, Debra Coats of Waterloo and Angela Dallis (Chuck) of North Augusta. He is also survived by 19 grandchildren; and 9 great grandchildren.
