He was predeceased by: his parents, John Sterling Nolen, Sr. and Evelyn Willie Miller Nolen; and his granddaughter Angela Ordway. He is survived by: his wife Katherine Nolen; his children, John L. Nolen (Sandra) of Myrtle Beach, SC, David B. Nolen of Alaska and Debra Ordway (Aaron); his granddaughter Denise Ordway; his stepgrandchildren, Kathy Todd (Nelson) and Stephen Merritt (Maggie); and his great grandchildren, Karla Todd, Tyler and Lena Merritt. He is also survived by his brother and his three sisters.
