She was predeceased by: her husband James Edward "Buddy" Nix, Jr.; and her parents, Michael Hampton and Amelia Wilson Kennemore. She is survived by: her son James E. Nix, III (Wendy) of Waterloo; and her grandchildren, Brooke Abercrombie of Waterloo and Emily Abercrombie of Waterloo.
