He was predeceased by: his parents, Bluitt Filyaw and Bessie Terry Filyaw; his son Ernest Leonard Filyaw; and his wife Alice Hatcher Filyaw. He is survived by: his daughters, Barbara Ann Strait of Warrenville, SC and Deborah Lynn Vaughn (Robert) of Warrenville, SC; his grandson Kevan William Strait; his stepgrandsons, Robert Lewis Vaughn and Jason Robert Vaughn; and his stepgreat-grandchildren, Destiny Marie Vaughn, Austin Lewis Vaughn and Robert Levi Vaughn.
