He was predeceased by: his father Bobby Floyd Rice; his sister Tammy Jones; his stepfather Randy Ashley; and his aunts, Kathy, Judy and Debra.

He is survived by: his mother Mary Thaxton Ashley of Ware Shoals; his wife Renee Seamans Rice; his daughter Kayla Leedy (Brian) of Waterloo; his stepdaughter Candi Culbertson of Simpsonville; his brother Dale Rice (Tammy) of Honea Path; his grandchildren, Lizzie Leedy and Carleigh Culbertson; and his aunts and uncles, Rick, Robert Strickland, Dee Dee Brown and Dolly Ann Lindley.
