He was predeceased by: his parents, James Thomas and Compton Margaret Parham Hammond; his son James Curtis Hammond, Jr.; and his brother Robert Lee Hammond. He is survived by: his wife Sally Freeman; his children, Travis Hammond of Perry, FL and Teresa Freeman of Charleston; his siblings, Tommy Hammond of Hodges, Marie Burroughs of Ware Shoals, Margaret Williamson of Ware Shoals and Tammy McCombs of Ware Shoals; his grandchildren, Amber Blick, Frankie Blick and Brittany Bernardino; his great grandchild Julio Hector Bernardino; and his nephew Allen Hammond.
