He was predeceased by: his parents, Cecil Marvin Padgett and Lillie Ackerman Padgett; and his siblings, Robert Riddick Padgett and Cecilia Padgett Thompson. He is survived by: his wife Helen Bailey Padgett; his sons, William Cecil Padgett, Jr. (Cheryl Carson Padgett) of Round Rock and John Marvin Padgett of Mount Pleasant; his grandchildren, Jessica Padgett Johnson (Eric), William Austin Padgett, Michael Logan Padgett (Pauline Nguyen), Sarah Addell Padgett (Cameron Ellison), Summer Emma Padgett and Lucille "Lucy" Lily Padgett; his great grandchildren, Cosima Johnson, Nova Johnson and Virginia Padgett; and his sister-in-law Ann Padgett.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorials be made in his memory to: Friends of Colleton County Animal Shelter, 33 Poor Farm Road, Walterboro, South Carolina 29488.
