It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Walter Delano Mathis of Walterboro, South Carolina, born in Sumter, South Carolina, who passed away on May 27, 2022, at the age of 91, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Samuel Aaron and Sudie Wingate Mathis; his wife JoAnn Padgett Mathis; his daughter Lesa M. Eisele (Bill) of Gilbert, SC; and his grandchildren, Hunter Eisele and Whitnie Scoggins. He was also cherished by his mother, siblings, his wife, daughter and grandchildren.
