It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Virginia Carter of Walterboro, South Carolina, who passed away on November 28, 2020, at the age of 85, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Bennie Polk and Eunice Polk of Islandton; her sons, Gerald D. Benton and Charles Melvin "Bugger" Benton; and also, Eugene Berkley Benton and Earnest J. Carter.
She is survived by: her children, Gene Benton (Debbie) of Mississippi and Donny Benton (Mary) of Arizona. She is also survived by 6 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren.
