It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Rita Montjoy of Walterboro, South Carolina, born in Asheboro, North Carolina, who passed away on April 9, 2021, at the age of 69, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was loved and cherished by many people including: her husband Larry Montjoy; her parents, Judy Craven Dula and Rome Wakefield Dula, Jr.; her children, April Goethe of Walterboro and Clint Goethe of Smoaks; her stepchildren, Melinda Risher (Edward) of Walterboro, Sara Hiers (Allen) of Walterboro and Andy Montjoy of Walterboro; and her sisters, Brenda Ivey (Paul) of Myrtle Beach, Wanda Walker Davis (Bill) of Franklinville, Debbie Smith (Craig) of Cary, Carol Whitlock and Theresa Workman. She was also cherished by twelve grandchildren; and eleven great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorials be directed in her memory to: Friends of Colleton County Animal Shelter, 33 Poor Farm Road, Walterboro, South Carolina 29488.
