In the soft embrace of remembrance, we recall the profound impact Mary had on those she encountered along her journey. Though Mary may have slipped beyond the veil of mortality, her essence lingers like a faint fragrance in the air, a lingering reminder of the beauty and complexity of the human experience.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Charlie Drain and Mildred Stokes. She is survived by: her children, Jerry and Tyshawn Stephens of Smoaks; her stepparents, Charlie Stokes and Dorothy Stokes; her siblings, Shellie Trotman, Charlie Stokes, Jr. of Smoaks and Jerome Stokes of Smoaks; and her close friend Thomas Singleton of Walterboro. She is also survived by three grandchildren, one great grandchild.
Viewing was held on Sunday, January 19th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Stephens Funeral Home (1767 Jefferies Hwy, Walterboro, SC 29488). A celebration of life was held on Monday, January 20th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Beulah Baptist Church (1986 Beulah Rd, Smoaks, SC 29481).
