With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Lee Dean Cox of Walterboro, South Carolina, who passed away on October 30, 2024 at the age of 92. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Elijah Lee and Ethel Varnadoe Lyons; her former husband George Reginald Benton; her brothers, Harold Lyons and Bernard Lyons; her stepdaughter Pamela Cox Mills; and her siblings-in-law, Bryan Bazzle, Jackie Nettles, Revere Benton, Ronald Benton, Bernard Cox, Jack Powers, Robert Powers, David Powers, Eldrigde Cox, Ruis Cox, Cleonis Benton, Margaret Cameron and Miriam Thomas.
She is survived by: her husband David W. Cox; her children, Nancy Benton Carter (Ricky) and William Larry Benton (Regina); her sisters, Janelle Lyons Bazzle and Ann Lyons Nettles; her grandchildren, Jeremy David Carter (Stacy), Deana Carter Groves (Matthew), Reginald Lee Benton and Jonathan Michael Carter (Joanie); her great grandchildren, Wyatt Carter, Gracelee Carter, Maddox Carter, Harper Groves and Collin Groves; and her siblings-in-law, Janet Lyons, Darlene Lyons, Faye Greco and Dan Powers. She is also survived by Nieces and Nephews, along with a multitude of family and friends.
Visitation was held on Sunday, November 3rd 2024 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Bethel United Methodist Church (355 Hampton St, Walterboro, SC 29488). A funeral service was held on Sunday, November 3rd 2024 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
