It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Jon Avant of Walterboro, South Carolina, born in Wadsworth, Ohio, who passed away on April 7, 2024, at the age of 79, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his wife Patricia Josephine Wilkerson Avant; his parents, Johnson Whilden Avant and Anna Hoffman Avant; his son Jason Avant; and his son-in-law Brett Belak.
He is survived by: his children, Jacqueline Avant Lunsford of Charleston, Jeraline Avant Belak of Ohio, Joseph W. Kornahrens of Ravenel, Freddy H. Avant (Casey) of Walterboro and Lisa Avant Craven (Andy) of Walterboro; his grandchildren, Shelby Rampey, Reid Lunsford, Jason Belak, Sarah Belak, Ethan Belak, John Belak, Josie Kornahrens, Kylie Kornahrens, Grace Constantine, Culler Avant, Finnley Avant, Taylor Strickland Jones (Austin), Brad Strickland, Dalton Craven (Rebecca) and Julia Craven Kinard (Josh); his great grandchildren, Braleigh and Kinleigh; his siblings, Thomas Avant (Danielle), Terry Avant (Sally) and Catherine Avant Cook (Daniel); and his extended family Cha Cha Gadson. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins.
