He is survived by: his son Ronnie; his wife Thelma Clemons Thompson; his children, Anita P. Thompson, Glenn R. Thompson (Vanessa) of Charlotte and Rochelle Simmons; and his grandchildren, Yasmin Evans (Marvin) of Atlanta, Sharminique Hamer (Brandon) of Loganville, Tiyana Fryer of Ewa, Johni Thompson of Atlanta Georgia, Dion Pringle, Stacey Simmons and Nakeya Thompson. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, friends.
Mr. Thompson was given the first Citizen of the Year Award in 2011 to honor his many contributions to the city of Walterboro.
