He was predeceased by: his former wife Elizabeth Miller Hiles; and his grandson Justin. He is survived by: his wife Esther Montellano Hiles; his sons, Edward Hiles (Charlene), Douglas Hiles (Betty) and Troy Hiles; his daughters-in-law, Pamela and Priscilla; and his stepchildren, Theresa M. Soto, Gerard McCloskey and Michael McCloskey. He is also survived by nine grandchildren; seven great grandchildren.
