He was predeceased by: his father Melvin Preacher "M. P."; and his brother Milton Paul "Buddy" Murdaugh (Permelia). He is survived by: his wife Cheryl Crapse Murdaugh of Walterboro; his daughters, Kimberly Mullinax (Jerry) of Walterboro and Ashley Fennessy (Jamie) of Concord; his grandchildren, Wesley Bryan, Julie Bryan, Kylie Fennessy, Peyton Fennessy, Kylee Hart and Jamie Bryan (Nicole); his siblings-in-law, Larry Crapse and Valry Stoudemire; his nephew Rodney Murdaugh (Brandi); his great-nieces and great-nephews, Austin, Archie Murdaugh and Brandon Stoudemire; and his niece Amber Trujillo.
