James left this world on March 31, 2025 at the age of 104, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. He was predeceased by: his parents, Alvin Wilson Skardon and Genevieve Hooper Skardon; his wife Geraldine Kelly Graham (Gerry); his son-in-law Frank Garrison; and his siblings, Alvin Skardon, Jr., Ambrose Hooper Skardon, Genevieve White, Beverly Norton Skardon and Stephen Skardon.
He is survived by: his daughters, Sally Skardon of Greenville, Dotty Kolb (Wade) of Sumter, Betty Garrison of Columbia and Genny Shelley (Allen) of Clemson; his grandchildren, Wade Kolb III of Greenville, Sally Kolb Pittman (Zach) of Gainesville, Rebecca Kolb Thomas (Doug) of Columbia, Bryant Shelley of Irmo, James Shelley (Stephanie) of Simpsonville, Patrick Garrison (Kaitlyn) of James Island and Elizabeth Garrison of Columbia; and his nephew Perry Buckner (Janet) of Walterboro.
Visitation was held on Thursday, April 3rd 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Skardon Hall at St. Jude's Church (907 Wichman St, Walterboro, SC 29488). A funeral service was held on Friday, April 4th 2025 at 11:00 AM.
