He was predeceased by: his parents, Charlie Simmons and Marie Simmons; his great grandchild Evelyn Grace Simmons; and his siblings, William Simmons, Cecil Simmons, Marie Gordy and Nancy Ermalee Simmons.
He is survived by: his children, Jamie Simmons of Walterboro, Robin Simmons Fail (Kevin) of Walterboro and Dee Ann Davenport (Wendell) of Walterboro; his siblings, Lewis Simmons of Yemassee and Hazel Simmons Harter of Allendale; his grandchildren, Christopher Simmons (Jennifer), Brandon Simmons, Leslie Davenport (John), Joseph Davenport and Rebecca Fail; his great grandchild Hudson Wyler Simmons; and his caregivers, Neeley, Aubrey and Michelle.
Visitation was held on Thursday, April 3rd 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Brice W. Herndon and Sons Funeral Homes and Crematory, Walterboro Chapel (1193 Bells Hwy, Walterboro, SC 29488). A funeral service was held on Friday, April 4th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
