He was predeceased by: his parents, Clint DeWitt and Myrtie Benton DeWitt; and his siblings, Nellie Hudson, Pearl DeWitt, Hearl DeWitt and Mearl DeWitt.
He is survived by: his wife Dorothy Sauls; his stepchildren, Dorothy Mae Diaz, Mary Sauls, April Sauls, Janie Sauls, James Sauls and Pete Sauls; his sister Lillie Byrd; and his nieces and nephews, Chuck Hayes, Jackie Gardner, Debbie Bennett, Jack Wolfe, Audrey Gardner and Noah Gardner. He is also survived by 17 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren.
