He was predeceased by: his parents, George A. Haws and Louise Farley Haws; his former wife Nellie Green Haws; his siblings, Martha Whittington, Charlotte Sanders, Francis Miller, Juanita Wagonor, Walter Haws, John H. Haws, Leroy Haws and Thomas Haws; and also, Kenneth Wayne Haws, Patricia Louise Kallas, Diana McHugh and George H. Haws, Jr..

He is survived by: his wife Dorothy Campbell Haws of Walterboro; and his stepchildren, Rebecca Owsley (Jim) and Tommy James (Julie). He is also survived by five step-grandchildren and two step-great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Shriners Hospitals for Children, 2900 Rocky Pont Drive, Tampa, FL 33607.
