He was predeceased by: his parents, Wiltz Murdaugh and Bernice Murdaugh; and his siblings, Leon "Nubby" Murdaugh, Frank Murdaugh, Roland Murdaugh, Buck Murdaugh, Helen Peeler, Thelma Crosby and Nell Murdaugh.
He is survived by: his wife Linda Lee Murdaugh of Walterboro; his children, Raymond and Michelle McMillan (Brian) of Walterboro; his grandchildren, Stephanie McMillan, JB McMillan and Easton Hartley; and his sister Faye Nettles of Walterboro. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
