It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Bennie Ruth Tapley of Walterboro, South Carolina, born in Charleston, South Carolina, who passed away on January 17, 2022, at the age of 81, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Benjamin Leo Ricketson and Essie Mae Smoak Ricketson; her son Donald B. Tapley; her grandson Jeffrey Deguzman; and her siblings, Jake M. Ricketson, Marion R. Marchant and Betty Woodward.
She is survived by: her husband Jim Tapley of Canadys, SC; her children, John Glenn Tapley of Canadys, SC and Rhonda R. Tapley (Joel) of Mt. Pleasant, SC; her siblings, Charles A. Ricketson (Beth), Rosie M. Soderlund, Shirley E. Newcomb and Carolyn R. Marchant; and her grandchildren, Jennifer Cumbee (NJ), Christopher Tapley (Adrienne), Joshua Tapley and Donald Kershaw. She is also survived by nieces, nephews and cousins.
