He is survived by: his mother Joann Strickland Thompson of Metter, Georgia; his wife Jean Hickman Thompson of Walterboro; his daughters, Kristen Kennedy of Richmond Hill and Kathleen Rine of Richmond Hill; his grandchildren, Victoria Thompson, Mackenzie Thompson, Savannah Lee, Jillian Kennedy and Georgia Rine; and his sisters, Bonnie Tyson (Doug) of Georgia and Cheryl Conder (Forrest) of Georgia. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
