He was predeceased by: his parents, Roy Cecil and Cora Bryant Long; and his brother Roy Long. He is survived by: his wife Elizabeth Blackwell Long of Walhalla; his children, Daniel Long (Mel), Mark Pelfrey (Angela) and Samantha Murray; his sisters, Treva Long (David) and Patricia Hawkins; his nephew Alan Simmons; and his niece Stephanie Kennedy. He is also survived by five grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to a Humane Society of one's choice due to his love for animals.
