He was predeceased by: his wife Lillian Hood Garrison; his parents, Marvin Lipscomb Garrison and Julia Estelle Pettite Garrison; and his siblings, Henry Garrison, Alan Garrison, Christine Garrett, Hazel Garrett and Mary Jo Moody.

He is survived by: his children, Shannon Garrison of Westminster and Kyle Braswell (Billy) of Walhalla; his stepchildren, Tom Moore, Kimberly Moore and Rhonda Pitts; and his siblings, Pete Garrison, Dot Burrell, Sarah Delk, Sue Jordan and Mickey Thrift. He is also survived by six grandchildren.
