She was predeceased by: her father William Everett Cox; her husband Johnny E. Howell; her sons, Randall Eugene Howell and Roger Glen Howell; and her siblings, Harold Cox, Jeanette Cox Bryant, Betty Cox Hogue and June Lineberger Price.

She is survived by: her children, Phyllis Howell Hoosier (Lynn) and Russell Howell (Tammy); her grandchildren, Bill Meek (Heather), John Meek (Jerri), Randall Howell (Sara), Robert Howell (Hannah), Timothy Howell, Megan Hoosier, Michael Hoosier and Stephen Hoosier (Jenna); and her sister Linda Lineberger Hodges (Wayne Hodges). She is also survived by 12 great grandchildren.

The family requests that memorial contributions be made to Riverwood Worship Center, 1425 Neal Hawkins Road, Gastonia, NC 28056.
