He was predeceased by: his parents, Ernest Mason and Willie Mae Williams Mason. He is survived by: his son Chad Mason (Christi) of West Union, SC; his siblings, Dennis Mason of Walhalla, SC, Carl Mason (Carol) of Spartanburg, SC and Vera Ann Foster of Laurens, SC; his grandson Hunter Mason of Athens, GA; and his close friend Susan McCall of Seneca, SC..

Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 2nd 2025 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the College Street Baptist Church (407 S College St, Walhalla, SC 29691). A funeral service will be held on Sunday, March 2nd 2025 at 3:00 PM at the Leon's Funeral Service (407 S College St, Walhalla, SC 29691). A burial will be held on Sunday, March 2nd 2025 at the Evergreen Memorial Gardens (970 Highlands Hwy, Walhalla, SC 29691).
