He was loved and cherished by many people including: his father Benjamin Hinkey; his wife Evelyn Sue Hinkey; his children, Susan Paulino of Boston, John Hinkey (Karen) of Seattle, Jennifer Goff, Sr. (Mike) of Richmond, Virginia and Wendy Eichelberger (Todd) of Snoqualmie, Washington; and his grandchildren, Jeffery Griffin, Jr., Cody Griffin, James Paulino, Shelby Paulino, Natalie Hinkey, Chloe Hinkey, Samantha Eichelberger and Michael Goff, Jr..

If desired, memorials may be made in his honor to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital.
