He was predeceased by: his parents, Burl Lee and Elsie Talley Brown; his siblings, Robert Brown, Curtis Brown, Faye Miller and Gertrude Patterson; his former wife Mary Helen McCall Brown; and his stepson Tommy Moore.
He is survived by: his wife Lois Bryant Brown of Walhalla; his children, James Andrew Brown (Wanda) of Salem and Mary Anne Brooks (Dwight) of Taylors; and his stepdaughters, Trina Adams (Steven), Sandra Rackley (Steve) and Nancy Rackley (Dennis). He is also survived by four grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; ten step-great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.
