He was predeceased by: his parents, T. S. Stancil and Maude Cheek Stancil; and his siblings, Fred Stancil, Dorothy Stewart and Lucille Hartwell.

He is survived by: his sons, Steve Stancil (Anita) of Walhalla, Larry Stancil (Jane) of West Union and David Stancil (Gina) of Sunset, SC. He is also survived by seven grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren.
