He was predeceased by: his spouse Betty Blackwell Pitts; his parent Will Pitts; his son Johnny Pitts; his siblings, Ray Pitts, Lois Jordan, Mannie Dale Woodall, Mary Lee Cobb, Adline Sanders and Thelma Pitts; and his grandson Chad Pitts.
He is survived by: his parent Bertie O'Sheilds Pitts Hale; his children, Danny Pitts (Rhonda) of Walhalla, Wayne Pitts of Walhalla, Judy Cobb (Robert) of Walhalla, Teresa Black (Clayton) of Oakway, Bertie Grogan (Keith) of Westminster and Deborah Neal (David) of Fair Play; and also Pitts Road. He is also survived by ten grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren.
