He was predeceased by: his parents, Fred Kiser and Beatrice Hicks Kiser of Walhalla, SC.; his wife Virginia Kiser; and his siblings, William Ray Kiser, Elizabeth Kiser Fulmer and Bula Mae Keaton.

He is survived by: his son Alvin G. Kiser Jr. (Lisa); his granddaughters, Reagan Kiser Price (Will) and Graeson Kiser of Virginia; and his brother Charles "Chuck" Kiser. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Mt. Hermon Lutheran Church.
