He was predeceased by: his wife Freida Listine Gunter Courtney; his parents, Theodore Elmore Courtney and Monnie Poole Courtney; and his sibling Gail Courtney McNair. He is survived by: his daughters, Tina Courtney Hartley (Chris) and Kimberly Courtney Adams; his grandchildren, Lauren Christina Hartley (Joshua), Andrew Norman Baynham (Caitlin) and Ansley Danielle Gainey (Billy); his great grandchildren, Nalani Hartley Scott, Noriana Arden Scott, Caroline Listine Baynham, Hunter Lane Baynham, Colin Theodore Dillow and Conway James Gainey; and his siblings, Bobby Courtney (late Linda), Linda Peeples (Robert) and Monnie Romines (Gary).
