She was predeceased by: her parents, Jessie Byrd and Jake Evans; her husband James Lynward Averitt; her sons, John Lamar Averitt and Jack Lee Averitt; her grandson Jason Averitt; and her siblings, Ovida Evans, Hansel Evans, Rossel Evans, Edna Evans, Cassie Brown and Mildred Evans.
She is survived by: her children, Cindy Ascolese (Frank), Susie Averitt Hydrick (late George), Donnie Averitt (Lisa) and Stephanie Lea Sheeks (Jeff); her grandchildren, Jeffery Averitt, Jake Averitt, Angie Averitt, Donna Averitt, Donald Averitt, Zach Averitt, Jordan Averitt, David Mello-Averitt and Crystal Hydrick; her daughter-in-law Susan Averitt; her great grandchildren, Brenden Sheridan (Jinsol), Jaden Sheeks (Bruce Tetsuya), Brittany Hydrick and Brandon Hydrick; and her great great grandchildren, Hannah Sheridan, J. B. Sheeks, Kyomi Tetsuya and Nora Mello-Averitt.
