He was predeceased by: his wife JoAnn Phelps Whittington; his parents, Henry Whittington and Lucille Hyott Whittington; his children, Michael Whittington, Gary Whittington and Ellen Whittington Burn; his granddaughter Michelle Colleen Whittington; and his brothers, Mickey Whittington and Bobby Whittington.
He is survived by: his son Guy Whittington of Winter Haven, Florida; and his sister-in-law Catherine Hudson Whittington of Varnville. He is also survived by 3 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
