It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Buril Frederick Dempsey of Varnville, South Carolina, who passed away on July 2, 2023, at the age of 84, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank Dempsey and Thelma Freeman Dempsey; and his sisters, Pansy Wooten and Valerie Griner. He is survived by: his children, Kim Dempsey of Varnville and Sidney Dempsey (Joni) of Barboursville, Virginia; his grandchildren, Devin Gibson and Kaylee Gibson; and his siblings, Frank "Aaron" Dempsey of Varnville and Nadine Linderman (Roger) of Jesup, Georgia. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
