He was predeceased by: his parents, William James Detyens and Florence Mood Detyens; his wife Beverly W. Detyens; and his daughter Tracy Marvin. He is survived by: his sons, William "Billy" Detyens, Jr. of Mount Pleasant, SC, George Avinger Detyens of Sullivans Island, SC and Tony Detyens of Charleston, SC; his grandchildren, Katrina Watson (James), Catherine Phillips (Remington), George Detyens, Jr., William R. Detyens, III, Rutledge A. Detyens, Jr., Amanda Detyens and Elliott Marvin; his great grandchildren, Marie Watson, Clare Watson, Scarlett Phillips, James Watson, Jr. and Johnson Phillips; and his sister Margaret Lamb of Georgetown, SC.
