He was predeceased by: his parents, Judson Black and Emma Adcock Black; his wife Betsy Black; his brother Henry Lewis Black; his sister-in-law Grace Black; his nephew Henry Lewis Black, Jr.; and his brother-in-law David Woodard.
He is survived by: his daughter Sandra McCoy (Tripp) of Vance; his sister Rheta Woodard of Barnwell; and his close friend Vernon Turner of Vance. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews.
