She was predeceased by: her parents, George Herbert Sparks and Essie Ramsey Sparks; her sons, Matthew Paul Sewell and Andrew Phillip Sewell; and her siblings, Jimmy Sparks and Barbara Disbrow.
She is survived by: her husband Gerald Sewell; her son Russell G. Sewell (Shirley) of Woodruff, SC; her grandchildren, Sammy Sewell (Kathy), Jonny Sewell (Danae) and Pammy Nix (Travis); and her brother Herbert Sparks (Anna) of Jonesville, SC.. She is also survived by five great-grandchildren.
