She is survived by: her children, Benjamin Mitchell of Union, SC, Ernest Mitchell of Spartanburg, SC, Mary Gaston of Charlotte, NC, Martha Stewart of Charlotte, NC and Romona "Cindy" Mitchell of Ellenwood, GA; and her godson Ernest Clayton of Union, SC. She is also survived by nine grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; eleven great-great-grandchildren.
