He was predeceased by: his mother Lizzie Smith Sims; and his son James Harold Sims, Jr. (Maticia) of Durham, NC. He is survived by: his father H. C. Sims; his wife Patricia Wilson Sims; his daughter Alicia Sims of Columbia, SC; his grandsons, Myles E. Sims of Durham, NC and Justin M. Sims of Durham, NC; his siblings, Charles Sims (Wilma) of Union, SC, Arthur L. Sims (Sherdella) of Hercules, CA and Hazel M. Rodgers of Jonesville, SC.; his nieces, Limica A. Stewart, Linda Stewart and Gwendolyn Jeter; his nephew Limmie Sims; and his cousins, Richard Lee Smith, Lonnie Smith and Georgia Mae Smith of Brooklyn, NY.. He is also survived by nieces, nephews.
