With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Doris Dillard (Union, South Carolina), who passed away on January 25, 2025 at the age of 75. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As we bid adieu to Doris' earthly form, let us not dwell on the void left in her wake, but rather celebrate the legacy of love and inspiration Doris has bequeathed us. For though she may have departed from our sight, her spirit remains a timeless beacon, guiding loved ones through the labyrinth of life's journey.
She was loved and cherished by many people including: her husband Wallace Dillard; her parents, Roy Young and Irene Gibson Young; her son James Paul Peppers III (Beulah); her stepchildren, Shatonya Dillard Rice (Adrian) and Darius Dillard; and her siblings, Earl Young (Patsy), Kathy Gist (James), Sherrie Bertha (Alex), Linda Pincheon and Karen Young. She was also cherished by three grandchildren, two step grandchildren, four great grandchildren and one great step grandchild.
Viewing will be held on Friday, January 31st 2025 from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Lewis Funeral Home and Crematory (1247 Duncan Bypass, Union, SC 29379). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 1st 2025 at 12:00 PM at the Beatty’s Chapel AME Zion (130 Beatty's Chapel Road, Union, SC 29379).
