She was predeceased by: her parents, Leola Peake and Eddie Peake; her husband William Emerson, Jr.; her son James Douglas Emerson; her son-in-law Daryl Cobb; and her sister-in-law Beulah Peake.
She is survived by: her children, Peggy Emerson-Cobb, Gloria Emerson-Witt, Deborah Emerson, Sancerae Bennett (Robert), Angela Emerson, Marguerite Emerson and Marvin Emerson; and her siblings, Roscoe Peak, Helen Carter (Howard), Ruby Henderson (Frank), James Peake (Mary) and George Peake. She is also survived by 18 grandchildren, and 17 great-grandchildren.
