She was predeceased by: her parents, Julia Louise Gist Jennings and Donald Garner; and her stepfather Alvin "Pink" Jennings, Sr.. She is survived by: her husband Lee Anthony Gossett; her children, Allen Glenn and Pamela Gist (Eric Gray); her stepdaughters, Leshannon McBeth (Chad Gilliam) and Serena Gilliard (Robbie); and her siblings, Alvin Jennings, Jr. (Malaika) and Shelia Jeter (James "JC").
