It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Hoyt R. Yates of Turbeville, South Carolina, who passed away on June 30, 2023, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Silas Pete Yates and Maggie Parker Yates; and his siblings, Ernest Yates, Christine Bennett, Barnwell Yates, Lillian Morley, Raymond Ray Yates and Larry Yates.
He is survived by: his wife Phyllis McQuitty Yates; his children, Karen Yates Metzer of Columbia, Becky Yates Levine (Jerry) of Turbeville and Kenny Yates (Wendy) of Turbeville; his grandchildren, Julia Ann Kennedy (Jim), Allison Muller (Justin), Mary Ashley Turner (Wesley), Timothy Metzer and Coleman Yates; his great grandchildren, Jenni Kennedy, Jamie Kennedy, James Muller, Henry Muller and Raina Turner; his brother Elbert Yates; and his mother-in-law Mildred L McQuitty. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
