He was predeceased by: his wife Evelyn Miles Evans; his parent Lonnie Calhoun Evans; his son Ellis David Evans, Sr.; and his brothers, Lonnie Evans and Junior Evans.
He is survived by: his children, Dean Evans (Christine) of Lake City and Melissa Evans (Andy Welch) of Turbeville; his sister Lou Attaway (John) of Charleston; his grandchildren, Neely Osborne (John), Sarah Carraway, Holly Haselden (Chris McElveen), David Evans (Melissa McCants), Brian Evans, William Evans (Angel), Kayla Wilson (James), Daulton Evans (Jocelyn), Nick Evans (Jamie), Katherine Wells (Warren), Jessica Mims (Damon) and Ashley Evans (Elijah); his daughter-in-law Laura Evans; and his brother-in-law Richard "Jenkieboy" Miles. He is also survived by 17 great grandchildren.
