He was predeceased by: his parents, Samuel Edward Godwin, Sr. and Merle Coker Godwin of Virginia; his former wife Vina Godwin; his brothers, Samuel Edward Godwin, Jr. and William David Godwin; and his son-in-law Quent Coker.
He is survived by: his wife Darlyn M. Godwin of Florence; his daughter Lori Ann Goff (Tommy) of Turbeville; his grandchildren, Gracelyn Danielle Coker, Garrett Quentin Coker and Lexi Ann Goff; and his sisters, Carol Gause (Jon) of Florence and Donna McDaniel of Scranton.
