He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Stempien and Mary Helen Hess Stempien. He is survived by: his wife Marsha Dorshefski; his children, Keri, Steven Jr. (Stella) and Eric Stempien (Leora); his granddaughter Skyler; and his siblings, Stanley (Lucille), Joseph (Debbie), Ricky (Nancy Banicky) and MaryAnn Long. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, those attending visitation at the funeral home are asked to wear a face mask and follow social distancing guidelines.

“Sorry to hear of Steve's passing, I knew him back in the Mid 70's when we were in the Nanticoke National Guard together,and would run into him at the Nanticoke American Legion once a month until He moved to South Carolina , He was a Great Man that worried about His Men in the Unit, and Heaven became a better place with His Presence. Once again my Condolences to His Wife and Children for their loss, He will be Sadly Missed..........Todd Noss.”
