He was predeceased by: his wife Jessie Mae Fields Hancock; his parents, Joe, Sr. Hancock and Beatrice Lamb Hancock; his son Edward Baughman; and his sisters, Evelyn Harris and Sissy Baughman.
He is survived by: his daughters, Ivonia B. Wright (James) and Ida M. Jackson (Roy); and his siblings, Nish "Snap" Hancock (Alice), Irene Baughman and Betty Franklin. He is also survived by nine grandchildren, eighteen great grandchildren and eleven great-great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Thursday, January 23rd 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Chapel of Napier Funeral Home & Crematory (315 Main St, Graniteville, SC 29829). A funeral service was held on Thursday, January 23rd 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
