He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Corine Williams; his children, Cornelia Ann Roberts (Art), Van (Juanita), Johnny, Bruce, Wendy Viora, Rueben (Sherria), Arthur Marvin and Tina Kim Lorraine; and his godchildren, Paul Jackson (Vivian), James Henry (LaVoncia) of Washington and Mary Ann Pinckney. He was also cherished by 28 grandchildren, 49 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren.
